El Centro Education Foundation Vision & Mission

The El Centro Education Foundation was established on October 5, 1983.  The primary objective and purpose of this Foundation is to provide additional resources to the Central Union High School District and the El Centro Elementary School District to support and enhance educational programs and opportunities for the students of the Districts. All activities of the Foundation shall be consistent with its non-profit status as a charitable corporation, in accordance with Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (3).

  • The mission of the El Centro Education Foundation is to empower students and teachers within the El Centro Elementary School District and the Central Union High School District by providing cutting-edge and equitable opportunities that foster academic excellence and prepare individuals for the dynamic challenges of an ever-changing world.

El Centro Education Foundation - CUHSD Highlight

ECEF Funding & Scholarship Opportunities

The types of activities that will be supported include but are not limited to: Band or Orchestra adjudication, defray the costs of student competitions for Robotics, Mock Trial, HOSA, SAVAPA, FFA, etc., a consultant that will benefit a large group of students or other types of activities where a group is representing the school district.
 
Please submit the request form below, to Carol Taylor at the CUHSD office located at 351 Ross Ave., El Centro, Ca., six weeks prior to the event in order to process the request.

The El Centro Education Foundation is proud to support student excellence and achievement by offering the Teacher & Librarian Special Project Grant. This program provides funding for innovative classroom projects and literacy-focused initiatives that directly benefit students.

The Teacher Grant encourages creative and imaginative teaching practices that enhance learning and highlight the great work happening in our schools. The Librarian Grant supports projects that promote literacy development and foster a love of reading among students.

Grants of up to $1,500 per project are available to help bring these impactful ideas to life.


Guidelines for Grant Consideration Does your idea:

  • Introduce an innovative and creative program involving many students?
  • Offer students a unique learning opportunity, which would otherwise be unavailable?
  • Enrich a related program?
  • Provide resources, which will enhance classroom curriculum or library byencouraging student participation?
  • Involve community resources or volunteers, interdisciplinary or team teaching, or studentsof different age groups?
  • Not qualify for Federal, District or PTO funding?

To Apply for the 2026-2027 Teacher & Librarian Special Project Grant:

  1. Complete the attached Form and return via email to Carol Taylor ctaylor@mycuhsd.org. Completed applications must be turned in by May 15, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
  1. Grant recipients must complete the project and use the funds by the end of the 2026-2027 school year. Upon completion of the project, the grant recipient must complete and submit the attached Self-Evaluation form to the El Centro Education Foundation via email to ctaylor@mycuhsd.org. Failure to do so shall result in denial of further grant consideration.
